Asus ROG Phone 5 may come with 18GB of RAM, benchmark listing reveals

Asus ROG Phone 5 will go live on March 10. It is also coming to India soon. The upcoming ROG Phone is expected to offer top-of-the-line specifications and various optimisations aimed at power users and gaming enthusiasts. A new report reveals Asus ROG Phone 5 will also push the RAM limit.

According to a Geekbench listing (via Mysmartprice), Asus ROG Phone 5 will have a whopping 18GB of RAM. It will be a significant jump from 16GB of RAM on the predecessor, ROG Phone 3. It is worth noting that most of the high-end phones come with 12-16GB of RAM capacity. As far as benchmark scores go, Asus ROG Phone 5 bagged 1113 points on the single-core test. On a multi-core test, it bagged 3468 points. The benchmark listing also reveals Android 11 and ‘Lahaina processor, which is the codename for Qualcomm’s top-end Snapdragon 888.

The 18GB of RAM will most likely be available with the top-end variant of the phone. So far, rumours have said the ROG Phone 5 will have 16GB of RAM.

Older leaks reveal that Asus ROG Phone 5 will run on a 6,000mAh battery. It will also be coupled with a fast 65W charger. It is also rumoured to come with a 64-megapixel primary camera sensor on the back. It will also feature a punch-hole display, which could be a 6.68-inch AMOLED panel. The phone will come with an in-display fingerprint reader, and up to 144Hz refresh rate.

Even as Asus is gearing up for the launch, rival Lenovo has begun teasing its next-generation gaming phone under the Legion series. An official teaser revealed the handset would launch n the first half of the year. Lenovo General Manager Chen Jin in a Weibo post said that the handset would come several new functionalities. He also stressed that the handset would not compromise on anything so that gamers have a much better experience.
